Deedra and Megan recap their own words for 2021 and talk about how those played out, and they share their new words for 2022 and the crazy story of how they came to be. What's your word for 2022? Tell us in the comments below!
The Christmas season is one of awe, wonder, hope, and expectations, but it also holds the tension of exposing sadness, grief, longing, and loneliness. Whatever your circumstances are this season, there is an Emmanuel, God with us, who brings us a hope to carry us through the unmet expectations.
Who's ready for some holiday cheer? Just kidding. Today we are discussing those super-fun emotions like envy, resentment, anger, shame, and fear. Did you know that resentment isn't really part of anger; it's tied to envy? Megan and Deedra discuss how the numbers in the gut triad experience their anger, how the numbers in the heart triad deal with shame at the root of it all, and how the head triad manages their base of fear. They also happen to get pretty deep into their own issues with envy and resentment and how it plays out in their bodies and in their relationships.
It's no secret that Deedra (okay, and Megan) are huge fans of Dr. Brené Brown and her work as a shame researcher. So when Atlas of the Heart dropped last week, they both geeked out over how Dr. Brown puts language to 87 different emotions and experiences. By overlaying the enneagram with this reference book, we find even more pathways for healing and freedom.

They've mentioned it before, but there are a lot of things that you won't find from Deedra and Megan in this podcast. For instance, they won't be sharing recipes or how to put together a Pinterest-worthy craft. In fact, there are a lot of things they aren't good at! Tune in to find out more.
Last week, we hosted our first national women's retreat in Colorado, and we are so thankful for everything that happened! Join us for this episode as we recap the weekend and express our gratefulness leading into Thanksgiving. For more information on hosting your own retreat, click here.
As our first repeat guest on the podcast, Dawn Amsden Stark is back to talk about her book that JUST launched November 16! Called to War is her personal memoir of her struggle through infertility, IVF, adoption, and advocacy, but her story is so much more than that. It's a testimony about the beauty in surrendering to God's story for our lives. You can purchase Called to War on her website and follow Dawn on Facebook and Instagram!
Meg Amsden joins Deedra and Megan to continue the conversation they started last week on embodiment. As a certified yoga instructor with a theater background, Meg is trained in using her body as a way to center her mind and emotions, and she shares wisdom around the simple act of breathing. To leave a voicemail with your questions or comments, call (314)384-9109.
In today's episode, Megan and Deedra discuss what it means to live as a whole, integrated person, particularly as it relates to our centers of intelligence (head, heart, and body). They've been slowly learning about the concept of embodiment, so join them in their earliest musings around this topic!

Deedra and Megan follow up last week's discussion with Heather Thompson Day by thinking about what happens in seasons of waiting. Do we let our characters be refined? Do we let God move? Or do we manipulate our circumstances to reach our goals?
Megan and Deedra have the privilege of speaking to Dr. Heather Thompson Day on today's episode! They discuss her newest book, all things enneagram, and how to breathe in the social media chaos.

Deedra and Megan explore the subject of creativity: what does it mean to be creative? Is being creative the same as being artsy? How can we tap into our own God-given creativity, and does creativity have anything to do with our enneagram numbers? Join us for this conversation, and leave us your feedback in a voicemail by calling (314)384-9109.
The quote Megan mentioned was from Reached by Ally Condie, and it says, "It strikes me that this is how writing anything is, really. A collaboration between you who give the words and they who take them and find meaning in them, or put music behind them, or turn them aside because they were not was needed."
Are we talking about self-care tips or simply growing as a person? Both! Megan and Deedra talk through practical steps for each enneagram type to find more levels of freedom from stress and anxiety.
Read all the practical growth tips for each number on Megan's Instagram account.
We may not all experience clinical anxiety, but we definitely all have anxious thoughts or feelings once in awhile. Deedra and Megan discuss what causes anxiety for each enneagram type, and they want your input!
