Brief Overview

  • Nines are the peacekeepers, the ones who can see both sides, the arbitrators.
  • Nines don't like conflict, and they spend energy holding two boundaries. One is internal to keep in anything that will cause conflict, and one is external to keep out anything that will disrupt their peace.
  • They won't be peer-pressured on things that matter to their personal values.
  • Nines are part of the anger triad, but they repress it to keep the peace.
  • They are loyal but laidback. They think their presence doesn't matter, so they may not sense that you really need them.

In Relationship

  • Nines have a low amount of energy.
  • They avoid conflict and keep peace at (almost) all cost.
  • Nines frequently won't express an opinion because they find it easier to merge with others--within reason. Nines are also stubborn, and if their opinion is important enough, they won't budge.
  • Repressed anger can trickle out through passive-aggressive comments and behaviors.
  • Nines genuinely want to keep the peace, but they also fear their voice won't be heard or won't matter if they do speak.

Withdrawing Stance

Stances are formed by which of the centers of intelligence is repressed. For Nines, it is doing. ​
Nines aren't actually lazy. They just find that engaging in the world too fully takes more energy than they are often willing to give. But Nines can still get a lot done. Unfortunately, Nines aren't great at prioritizing. When they are faced with a list of tasks, each one looks as important as the next, and they can easily be distracted by something new.
