Dauntless Grace has always been a ministry dedicated to helping women connect to a meaningful story—God’s story. As people born into a broken world, we often wind up stuck in a cycle of trying to fix it all ourselves. But our lives are a journey leading us towards being connected back to the Creator.
Identifying our broken patterns and how we choose to fix it ourselves is the first step towards healing. We need awareness of how we think, feel, act, and respond. Even more importantly, we need awareness of the subconscious motivations that drive all of those thoughts, feelings, actions, and responses.
We have found here at Dauntless Grace that the enneagram can be a powerful tool to help people find that awareness.
Since the enneagram’s origins are fuzzy at best, we have heard some Christians express concern over our use of a secular tool.
To that, I recommend reading this page from Beth McCord at Your Enneagram Coach. It concisely states how Christians can and should feel the freedom to use the enneagram in helping others connect to God.
Megan received her coaching certification from YEC, and we at Dauntless Grace endorse YEC’s use of the enneagram for believers.
“All believers should be diligent in their research, use wisdom, and ultimately, decide for themselves. We think Christians should use the Enneagram—if they find value in it—provided they always keep in mind that the Enneagram (like other personality assessments) is simply a tool. It is the gospel, and ONLY the gospel, that brings true transformation in our lives” (YEC).
